Before I entered "the real world", I went to school. Here's where I've been...
Phillips School
My early childhood was spent entirely at Phillips School in Painesville,
Ohio, now called
Phillips Osborne School
(clearly, they didn't have a web page when I was there). I attended
Phillips from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, with a brief stint
at Melridge Elementary School
for half of first grade.
Alpine Elementary School
For almost exactly one year, my family lived in Sparta, New Jersey, and
I attended
Alpine Elementary School
for sixth grade.
Memorial Junior High School
After sixth grade, my family moved back to Ohio (if you find yourself
humming a familiar Pretenders tune, you're not alone!), and I attended
Memorial Junior High
for seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. I did all kinds of fun stuff there:
I was an Office Aide and a Clinic Aide, and the president of Teleport 2000,
which provided me with my first exposure to the internet, way back in the dark
ages of 1990. While I didn't play any competitive
sports, I was in the Ski Club, and I was a manager for the Freshman Boys
Basketball team. I also participated in a variety of community service
activities.
Mentor High School
By natural extension, I proceeded to
Mentor High School, from which I
graduated in June 1995. While there, I was a reporter and a section editor
for The Inkwell, a member of the Academic Decathlon team (we won
first place in Ohio!), and an active participant in community service
activities through Future Leaders of America and Community Service Club.
Case Western Reserve University
I enrolled at Case Western Reserve University
in August 1995, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in
Computer Engineering and a minor
in Artificial Intelligence in May 1999. Outside of classes,
I was involved in many extracurricular activities. I'm an alumnus of the
Theta Upsilon chapter of
Alpha Phi Omega, the national co-ed service
fraternity. I was also involved with the
Society of Women Engineers,
CWRU Student Chapter of the
Association for Computing Machinery,
the Ohio Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the Lux chapter of Mortar Board,
and the Ohio Youth Action Council, among other activities. Oh, and
if you're looking for my physics humor page, you can find it
here.
For now, I'm done. We'll see what the future holds...
