Welcome! Thanks for stopping by my site.
As you may already know, I'm Jeni Panhorst. I make my home in sunny Phoenix, Arizona,
where I've lived since April 2000. I spent most of the first 21 years of my life on the east
side of Cleveland, Ohio, and I've also lived (briefly) in Hillsboro, Oregon, Raleigh,
North Carolina, and Sparta, New Jersey.
I used to be Jeni Barovian, but then I found this incredible guy,
Steve Panhorst.
We were married on July 31, 2001 on the Hawaiian island of Maui, on the beach at sunset.
You may be interested in our wedding web site.
We welcomed our first child, Juliana Dawn Panhorst, into the world on May 29, 2004. Being
her mom and dad's child, she also has her own web site.
Like most folks, I spend many of my waking hours working.
Prior to entering "the real world", I spent most of my hours (waking and sleeping)
dealing with school.
I am a self-professed "food geek". I love cooking & baking food, eating food, reading
about food, watching television programs about food -- you name it. I love trying new
recipes, though my husband likes to joke that I never follow a recipe anyway. I particularly
enjoy the "why" of food -- the science behind why recipes work the way they do.
To balance the above hobby, I love exercising and staying in shape. I enjoy many outdoor
(biking, hiking, swimming, downhill skiing, etc.) and indoor (aerobics, weight lifting,
stretching, etc.) fitness activities.
I've loved music as long as I can remember. My favorite band, even though they're no
longer together, is Toad the Wet Sprocket; my favorite musical genre is rock/alternative,
though I'll tolerate most anything. Steve and I are both music enthusiasts, and fortunately,
we have very similar tastes... For some great music, check out his
internet radio station, Cactus Radio.
My strange obsession (hey! we all have at least one!) is AMC Pacers. Yep,
you guessed it, I'm actually into those weird bubble-shaped cars from the '70s. You can
read all about it on my "famous" site, The Pacer Page.
To round out my automotive enthusiasm, in addition to my 1977 AMC Pacer, I also own a
2003 Pontiac Vibe, my daily driver. (But guess which one gets the garage spot?)
